A musical oasis in
the heart of Aalborg

Since the colorful 80s, many great international stars have left a living mark of their visit to Aalborg.

The director with the budding idea, Ernst Trillingsgaard, wanted international stars to leave more than just a signature in a scrapbook. In 1987, Sir Cliff Richard planted the first tree, marking the beginning of what we today call The Park of Music.

The Park of Music symbolizes, with its many celebrities like Sting, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Bob Dylan, Tom Jones, Elton John, Beyonce, Take That, and many more, that this park is truly unique to Aalborg.

At each tree, you will find a stand containing a sample of the various artists’ most iconic hits. Press the button on the stand, and transform the tree into a living jukebox!

The park grew over several decades and was redesigned in 2011, so today it features both some of the old durmast oaks and the new wild cherry trees.

The entrance to this musical paradise is marked by a portal consisting of eight rust-red pillars – an artwork created by the imaginative Thorvald Odgaard and Bruno Kjær. A. Enggaard A/S and Bladt Industries were on board and helped cast the base and make the tall pillars. A spectacular way to say welcome to The Park of Music!

The Park of (Christmas) Music

At AKKC, we love contributing to the Christmas spirit in Aalborg. Therefore, every Christmas, we replace some of the trees’ usual songs with the artists’ Christmas music.

In December, you can enjoy the coziest melodies of Christmas on 62 of Kildeparken’s singing trees.

If you visit Kildeparken and The Park of Music on Advent Sundays, you will be greeted by 250 candles that light up the park beautifully and complete the Christmas atmosphere.

Look for the Christmas decorations to find the trees with Christmas music. Maybe your favorite Christmas song is among the ones played at one of the trees during Christmas?
