As the only place in the world Aalborg Kongres & Kultur Center can proudly present a unique Park of Music with singing trees.
Since the mid-80s major celebrities have left living reminders of their visits by planting a tree in Aalborg's beautiful city park, Kildeparken.
A unique and very unusual idea created by the managing director Ernst Trillingsgaard which became a reality back in 1987 when Sir Cliff Richard planted the first tree before he gave his concert in Aalborg Congress and Culture Centre as a reminder of his visit to the city.
At each tree planted by the artists themselves or at their permission, there will be music.
A stand by the tree contains a little medley of the artist's most famous music which is activated by pressing a button. The music is selected in cooperation with Aalborg Bibliotekerne (Aalborg Public Libraries).
The Gateway to the Park of Music
At the entrance to the Park of Music with the singing trees a large artwork is raised consisting of eight tall columns made of corten steel which will form a rust-like appearance when exposed to the weather.
The artwork is created by two local artists, Thorvald Odgaard and Bruno Kjær. Casting the bases and production of the columns by Enggaard and Bladt Industries.
