Aalborg Symphony Orchestra

Aalborg Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1943 and has today reached a position as one of Denmark's five fully professional regional orchestras. Since its founding, the orchestra has played a central role in the cultural life of Northern Jutland.

Here, the audiences are offered a concert experience with artists of international greatness, first and foremost at the orchestra's major concerts in Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre, where a season includes up to 20 concerts. Additionally, the orchestra can be experienced at concerts across the Northern part of the country. These concerts are both traditional symphony concerts and concerts of more popular character, typical New Year- and summer concerts.

Aalborg Symphony Orchestra also operates as an opera- and ballet orchestra at guest performances from ensembles at home and abroad. Furthermore Aalborg Symphony Orchestra is the permanent orchestra for the Royal Theater's opera and ballet, when touring the provinces.

Aalborg Symphony also goes on tours abroad. The orchestra has, in the past decade, visited Roubaix in France, Montreux in Switzerland and made two concert tours to Germany.

Every year, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra holds more than 160 arrangements and plays for more than 70.000 people worldwide, with emphasis on symphony concerts. Chief Conductor is Moshe Atzmon.
